Lita Rossana Ford is born in Britain and was an American singer, guitarist, and writer. The latter half of the 1970s she was a lead guitar for the hard-rocking All-girl group The Runaways. The group did not have much of a following within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career when the group was disbanded in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Both the albums did not get much attention and Ford disappeared from the rock world for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hits. However, her success was only not long-lasting and, for a few more years, she disappeared. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, it was back in the spotlight. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
